Boise woman charged with brandishing gun, claiming to be a deputy

Susan P. Garrett, 50, of Boise spent the weekend in jail after a citizen reported a woman waved a gun at her in the area of North Maple Grove Road and Sunflower Lane, claiming to be a sheriff's deputy.

The incident was reported Friday afternoon. Officers located Garrett, who lives in the neighborhood, and found the weapon, Boise police reported Monday. After speaking with Garrett, officers booked her into the Ada County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and intimidation by false assertion of authority.

She was arraigned on the felony aggravated assault charge Monday, and a preliminary hearing is set for June 22. Bond was set at $15,000, but she remained in the county jail Monday evening.
