Parma truck driver gets 7 years to life for molesting girl

Christopher Clendenon, 50, of Parma must serve at least seven years of a life sentence for lewd conduct with a child, 3rd District Judge Bradley Ford ruled.

Ford also ordered Clendenon to pay $1,500 in fines and court costs, register as a sex offender and have no unsupervised conduct with minor females until his sentence is completed.

Clendenon was arrested in January 2015 after an investigation by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office revealed that he had sexual contact with an underage girl on numerous occasions between 2006 and 2014. Clendenon told detectives that he began molesting the girl when she was 6 years old and he inappropriately touched her when she traveled with him on trucking trips to Oregon.

During a psycho-sexual evaluation before his sentencing, Clendenon reportedly admitted to victimizing others, starting when he was a teenager.

“Given this has been going on for approximately 40 years, life (in prison) is appropriate to ensure the protection of the community,” Judge Ford said at Monday's sentencing hearing..
