Meridian police release photos of suspect in armed robbery of Subway shop

Meridian police are investigating an armed robbery Wednesday night at the Subway restaurant on Fairview Avenue and Locust Grove Road.

A man in his 20s, wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, a black bandanna over his face and a dark baseball cap entered the store and told the staff he had a gun in his pocket. He then took an undisclosed amount of cash and left the scene. He was described as 6 feet, 4 inches and of medium build, according to Tracy Basterrechea, Meridian’s deputy chief of police.

According to police, the man’s hooded sweatshirt says “INK” in bold white letters across the front and “ADDICT” over the top of the hood.

The robbery was reported shortly after 9:30 p.m., an Ada County dispatcher said. The male robber reportedly fled the scene before police arrived . No one was injured.
