Nampa teen pleads not guilty in connection with triple stabbing

An 18-year-old charged in connection with a triple stabbing in Nampa March 28 entered a not guilty plea Friday.

Esiel Oseguera of Nampa is charged with one count of aggravated assault without intent to kill, according to court records. His jury trial is set for Aug. 18 in 3rd District Court.

Oseguera was arrested the day after the late-night stabbing at a home in the 100 block of Happy Valley Road. A witness told police Oseguera fired a gun in the house, but no one was injured by bullets. Three people reportedly suffered multiple knife wounds to their necks, heads, arms and torsos.

The man accused of inflicting those wounds is 18-year-old Nampan Armando Jose Leon, who was taken into custody three days later after a short foot pursuit. He faces three felony counts of aggravated battery, plus two felony charges of assault or battery against police officers on the day he was arrested. He scheduled for arraignment May 8.
