Three arrested after caller alerts Boise police to possible burglary in progress

An alert citizen's call to 911 about a possible burglary in progress led to the arrest of three people in Boise early Saturday, Boise police report.

Aaron J. Moore, 23, of Boise, Tara L. Bingham, 20, of Hailey and Sidney A. Penney, 22, of Boise and Tacoma, Wash., were booked into the Ada County Jail on felony burglary charges.

At 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of suspicious activity at a detached garage on South Longmont Avenue south of Beacon Street. Officers found three people inside the garage.

Two suspects, Moore and Bingham, walked out of the garage when officers ordered. The third suspect, Penney, reportedly tried to hide but was located by officers, police said.

Police said Penney was found in possession of several business payroll checks reportedly taken from the garage. Officers contacted the property manager, who reported the suspects had no standing or authority to be inside the building.

Penney and Moore, who also had outstanding arrest warrants, remained in the county jail Monday night. Bingham was released from jail.
