A Caldwell man who was facing arrest attempted to flee law enforcement on foot, ran into the interstate and caused a two-vehicle car accident Tuesday, according to a Nampa Police Department press release.
Officers found out that Alex Bailey, 25,— who had an outstanding warrant — was staying in a motel on the 600 block of Northside Boulevard in Nampa. Officers knew he had been involved in a vehicle pursuit, and suspected he had a firearm, according to police.
Bailey fled the motel before officers could take him into custody. He ran through traffic on eastbound Interstate 84. Drivers attempted to stop, but two vehicles crashed while avoiding hitting Bailey. Occupants of one of the vehicles involved were transported to the hospital, but didn't sustain life-threatening injuries, police said.
Bailey was arrested and booked into Canyon County Jail. He is being held on a warrant for parole violation and faces additional charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a police officer and felony possession of a firearm.
