Police: Boise man arrested, accused of meth possession after foot pursuit

A Boise man fled police after a routine traffic stop and was later charged with possession of meth, according to Boise Police Department.

Officers pulled over Daniel Smith, 32, of Boise for failing to stop at a stop sign Wednesday morning. When officers initiated contact with Smith and the passenger, Kathleen Edwards, 36, of Boise, they noticed a small baggie of white powder on the floorboard of the vehicle, later determined to be methamphetamine. Police brought in a K9 unit and found more meth and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to police.

Smith was taken to Ada County Jail and charged with one felony count of controlled substance violation and one count of resisting or obstructing officers. Edwards was charged with one felony count controlled substance violation and one count of drug possession.
