No one injured in hour-long Nampa hostage situation

No one was injured after an hour-long stand-off on the 300 block of Pops Avenue, according to Nampa Police Department.

The situation was called in around 2:46 p.m., dispatch said.

A man had gone into his friend’s household, when the friend’s roommate, a 52-year-old man, reportedly pointed a handgun at him, police said.

Police responded but the suspect would not open the door, according to NPD.

A special operations unit came on scene to negotiate with the suspect. At least one person was suspected of being held hostage, police said.

The suspect surrendered after about an hour, and no parties were injured, police said.

No one has been charged as of Saturday evening.
