A 29-year-old Boise man has been arrested and charged with two felonies after police say he broke into a home in the Veterans Park neighborhood and shot a man in the shoulder early Sunday, according to a Boise Police Department news release.

Andrew Dechambeau, who was arrested early Monday, is charged with felony aggravated battery and felony burglary.

Dechambeau is accused of breaking into a home on the 2600 block of Regan Avenue around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13. According to police, a resident of the home confronted Dechambeau, chasing him from the house as Dechambeau fled with stolen property. The two got into a confrontation around 27th Street and Stewart Avenue, and Dechambeau allegedly drew a gun and shot the resident in the shoulder.

The man was treated at a hospital and released.

Security camera footage of the suspect released Sunday evening appeared to show a handgun tucked into his waistband.
