Johnathan Yearsley, 38, of Garden Valley faces charges of aggravated assault and burglary in connection with an incident early Monday at a Garden City convenience store and a separate incident that happened in Horseshoe Bend a short time later.
Garden City police distributed surveillance photos that morning seeking the public’s help identifying the man who reportedly tried to buy alcohol at a Maverik about 2:40 a.m., then stole it and brandished a gun at a delivery truck driver in the parking lot.
Tips from the community led to Yearsley’s arrest, police said in a follow-up news release.
He also is the suspect in an aggravated assault incident which occurred in Horseshoe Bend shortly after the suspect left Garden City, police said, but no details were available on that assault.
Yearsley remained in the Ada County jail Wednesday afternoon.
