Man admits to driving off Nampa overpass, crushing pickup, killing its occupant

Tyler Callahan, 22, pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charge stemming from a Nampa crash last year that killed John Pew, 64.

Callahan, of Weiser, was accused in March 2016 of driving his Chevrolet Impala off of the Interstate 84 bridge over Northside Boulevard, crushing Pew’s pickup.

Callahan had two juveniles in his vehicle; both survived the crash.

He is set for sentencing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
