Hailee Anna Meadows, 18, was arrested early Friday after a caller reported seeing a woman get out of a car and take a package off her neighbor’s front porch.
A Canyon County sheriff’s deputy spotted the suspect car leaving the neighborhood outside Nampa a few minutes later. The caller had supplied a description of the car and a license plate number.
The driver of the car, Tiffany Kay Timberlake, 41, told the deputy she was driving through the neighborhood looking for her daughter.
When confronted about a large cardboard box sitting in the back seat of the car with a shipping label, Timberlake admitted it wasn’t hers, police said.

The deputy also found several hundred pieces of unopened mail addressed to a dozen addresses in the Nampa area. The envelopes contained a credit card, a passport, bills, letters and other items. Deputies also found a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in Timberlake’s purse. She denied the pipe belonged to her.
A syringe filled with meth was found in a bag located behind the driver’s seat. After Timberlake was arrested and taken to the Canyon County Jail in Caldwell, an intake deputy found 2.5 grams of meth in a package in Timberlake’s boot.
Baggies of methamphetamine were found in Meadow’s bra and underwear.
Timberlake told deputies she had driven Meadows through the neighborhood so Meadows could steal packages to give her children for Christmas. Meadows admitted her involvement in the scheme, deputies said.
Meadows was arrested in October when a car driven by her husband, Morgan L. Meadows, 20, was pulled over by a Nampa police officer, and an officer found a number of items in the car that had been reported stolen from other vehicles. The couple were each charged with felony counts of possession of stolen property.
In the package theft case, both Hailee Meadows, who was out on bail, and Timberlake were charged with two counts of grand theft and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.
Timberlake posted a $20,000 bond on Monday and was released from jail. Meadows remains at the Canyon County Jail on $100,000 bail. Timberlake is scheduled to return to court Dec. 22 for a preliminary hearing, with Meadows to appear the following day.
