A Boise man was arrested Tuesday evening on a felony charge of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 after a warrant was issued for him Monday, according to Boise Police Department spokesman Ryan Larrondo.
According to Larrondo, Boise police received reports in December 2015 that Marco Chi-Cordero, then 20 years old, was engaged in illegal activity with a female minor. BPD’s Special Victims Unit was able to locate evidence that Chi-Cordero and the victim “began chatting online before meeting in person multiple times,” Larrondo said in an email.
Larrondo said Chi-Cordero may face six to eight additional charges after he’s arraigned, as investigators found evidence that he engaged in similar illegal activities with other victims. Larrondo on Wednesday morning said Chi-Cordero was scheduled for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, though online court documents for him had not been updated Wednesday evening. It was not clear if he was arraigned as scheduled.
Larrondo said investigators booked Chi-Cordero into the Ada County Jail “under multiple charges,” though the jail’s inmate registry showed only the felony lewd conduct charge on Wednesday morning.
