Two arrested after Garden City shooting; victim critically injured

A man and woman were arrested during a Boise traffic stop Friday afternoon, wanted in connection with a shooting in Garden City about 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

Elena Pena, 27, was booked into the Ada County jail on a charge of aiding and abetting aggravated battery after a traffic stop at Franklin and Curtis Roads about 1:30 p.m. Friday, Garden City police report. Lyle Joe Croson, 34, of Nampa also was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant.

The 30-year-old shooting victim remained in critical condition at a local hospital late Friday afternoon, police said. His name has not been released.

Officers responding to the shooting report found the wounded man near West 39th and Stockton streets, police said.

Police are working with the U.S. Marshall’s Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force on the investigation and also seeking public help. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call GCPD at 208-472-2950 or you can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.
