Meridian police respond to reports of possible trespasser

Two reports have come in this week regarding a person who Meridian Police Department officers suspect may be casing neighborhoods, according to Tracy Basterrechea, MPD’s deputy chief of police.

“From what we can gather it looks like it's someone looking to steal things,” he said.

In one case the person actually is caught on a security camera opening a gate and passing through it, which would count as trespassing. The images of the person in question are grainy so officers have not been able to identify him, Basterrechea said.

The person was reported wandering through the Tuscany and Bear Creek subdivisions, and if anyone in the area has information about him or is concerned their property has been cased, Basterrechea encourages them to reach out to Meridian police at (208) 888-6678.
