This tractor-trailer blocked Idaho 16 for several hours Tuesday after the driver lost control, investigators said.

The stretch of highway between Beacon Light Road and Pollard Lane was closed in both directions for more than two hours after a tractor-trailer crashed and blocked the full width of the highway.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office responded to the wreck about 11:45 a.m. The driver, a 52-year-old Boise man whose name has not been released, lost control of the truck, which was headed toward Eagle, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

The truck went off the side of the road, then rolled onto its side across both lanes of the highway, the spokesman said. The driver did not appear to be injured, and no citation has been issued pending further investigation. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The portion of Idaho 16 north of Beacon Light was closed to all traffic until just before 2 p.m.
