A case Meridian police were investigating as a possible child enticement was ruled unfounded, police said.
A 14-year-old boy contacted police Aug. 17 to report a white male adult in his 50s or 60s had pulled up beside him and offered him a ride near North Goddard Creek Way and Ditch Creek, according to the release.
The reported man called up police and assured them he was just making an effort to be a good citizen. He told police he was driving his son home from the bus stop when they saw the 14-year-old walking outside in the heat. When the boy declined the ride, the man and his son drove back to their residence, according to the release.
Police noted that the 14-year-old boy was right to call police in this case and encouraged others to do so if they are in a similar situation. Even though the case was ultimately ruled as unfounded, it was still the right move, police said.
