Things got a bit sticky on State Street Wednesday morning when honey and bees spilled onto the roadway.
An apiary truck transporting honeybees lost some of its cargo while turning onto Highway 16. Officers responded to the call at about 9:30 a.m., according to Patrick Orr, spokesman for the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
"The hives were just not secured. They weren't secured correctly so they fell off the truck," he said.
Some bees were out and buzzing, but most of the hives were dormant. While some honey leaked out onto the road, most of the debris was on the shoulder of the road, Orr said.
