Treasure Valley residents got to jump into history Saturday at the American Civil War Living History Day at Eagle Island State Park.
About 50 Civil War reenactors brought the experience of Civil War life to Idaho students during the week and to the public on Saturday.
About 3,300 elementary students from the Treasure Valley piled into the park during the week to learn. There were artillery and cannon fire demonstrations and interactive displays, according to Skip Critell, an Idaho Civil War volunteer.
