Eagle Fire Department rescued 11 ducklings from a storm drain and reunited them with their mother Saturday, according to Battalion Chief Jeff Krochmal.
Storm drains can be treacherous for the young birds because they're just the right size to slip in, Krochmal said.
The 11 baby birds got trapped in a drain near the intersection of Cobblestone Way and Bosanka Drive. They were lucky to have a concerned citizen pass by. A call came into dispatch Saturday afternoon and firefighters arrived on scene to get the ducklings out.
All 11 ducklings were returned safely to their mother, Krochmal said.
