An injury crash involving seven vehicles tied up rush hour traffic on westbound Interstate 84 Wednesday evening.
The initial crash happened about 5:30 p.m. when a semi-truck driven by Daniel E. Johnson, 45, of Twin Falls, failed to slow for traffic that was stopped and hit a Subaru Impreza driven by Hillman Galindo Herrarte, 23, of Caldwell, Idaho State Police report.
Both drivers were injured and taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Nampa.
The chain reaction involved five other vehicles, including an Infiniti G35 driven by Saul Ortiz Mendoza, 31, of Pasco, Wash. Mendoza and his passenger Rodrigo Popoca Mendez, 21, of Mexico, were taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center on Garrity Boulevard.

Three lanes of travel were blocked for two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
All occupants of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts, ISP reports, and no other injuries were reported. Other vehicles involved were driven by Jose A. Villegas Jr., 35, of Nampa, Brandon J. Hopkins, 33, of Caldwell, Michael J. Reece, 31, of Boise and Andrew E. Moore, 45, of, Brownwood, Texas.
