Police: 2 men arrested after 2 reported armed robberies

Two Nampa men were arrested after the armed robbery of two stores Friday afternoon, according to Nampa Police Department.

Manuel Santana, 27, was charged with robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. Jose Brunett-Salgado, 24, was charged with robbery, according to police.

Police responded to a call reporting robbery at about 1:45 p.m. Friday to the 600 block of 12th Avenue Road.

Witnesses told officers that a Hispanic man in his 20s showed a firearm to demand cash. He took and undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the scene, driving off in a dark passenger vehicle, police said.

At about 3:30 p.m. police responded to another armed robbery call at the 100 block of Lone Star Road.

Witnesses told officers several men came into the store. One presented a firearm to demand cash. Then they left the scene in a dark passenger vehicle that matched the description from the previous incident, police said.

Officers located a dark passenger vehicle matching the description on Northside Boulevard. Officers made contact with the driver and passenger and detained both men.

Both Santana and Brunett-Salgado were booked into Canyon County Jail Friday.
