Three vehicles crashed into each other at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 84 near the Nampa Boulevard exit, according to Idaho State Police.
Both ISP and the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash. According to a description of events provided by ISP, Gustavo Morales-Perz, 44, of Ontario, Ore., was driving a 1997 Peterbilt tractor-trailer east on I-84 when traffic started to slow in front of him. He was unable to stop in time and rear-ended ISP Trooper Blake Higley, 30, of Boise, driving a 2015 GMC Yukon. Higley then crashed into Clifford Hahlbeck, 44, of Marsing, driving a 2006 Nissan Titan pickup truck, according to ISP.
Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt and no one was injured. Morales-Perez was cited for following too close and his vehicle was taken out of service for equipment violations, according to ISP.
The road was partially blocked for about 30 minutes, according to ISP.
