The Caldwell Police Department’s Coffee With a Cop June 20 will be held in a new venue that signals a new partnership for police: the Treasure Valley YMCA’s Caldwell branch.
Police are launching a substation at the Caldwell Y, 3720 S. Indiana Ave., across from Caldwell High School.
“This partnership will provide Caldwell Police Officers a quicker response time to calls in the immediate area, a private safe location to fill out reports, and opportunities to build positive relationships with Y members, teens, and youth,” branch executive director Erik Bullock told the Statesman via email.
CPD Capt. Devin Riley initiated the idea last fall, Bullock said, and it was approved by city and YMCA leaders.
