The victim’s black 2006 Ford Focus wasn’t discovered until 7 a.m. Tuesday along Howe Road just east of Texas Road, west of Greenleaf and Notus. But authorities are guessing it rolled sometime after 11:30 p.m. Monday night, according to the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was apparently headed west on Howe when the Focus left the right shoulder of the road. The driver overcorrected, crossed the roadway, ran off the left shoulder and rolled into a ditch.

Only one person was found in the car. That person’s name is being withheld until next of kin are notified, according to the sheriff’s office. Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris said the driver’s name is expected to be released Wednesday morning.

The sheriff’s and coroner’s offices are investigating the crash and death.
