A 13-year-old Canyon County girl took off from home in her family’s SUV Wednesday morning but soon crashed into a utility pole and another SUV. The collision knocked the pole down but no one including the driver was seriously injured.
Residents near the crash scene, on Highway 19 in Greenleaf, were without power following the 10:30 a.m. accident, which drew Wilder police and the Canyon County Sheriff’s office. KTVB reported that the girl initially fled but police caught up to her a short time later.
The girl, who refused medical attention, faces charges of driving without a license and leaving an accident scene.
