The primary mission of the seven-member Ada County Planning and Zoning Commission is to ensure development in the county conforms to land-use laws.
The commission meets Thursday evenings twice a month and occasionally at other times.
One seat on the commission has been vacant since January, county spokeswoman Kate McGwire said. County commissioners are looking for someone to serve a three-year term on Planning and Zoning. To qualify for the position, a person must have lived in Ada County for at least two years and must continue living in the county's unincorporated area for the duration of the term.
Those requirements can make it tough to find Planning and Zoning comissioners, McGwire said. Planning and zoning commissioner is a volunteer post.
