A citizen called police at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday after spotting the body near Ann Morrison Park on the south side of the river between the Friendship Bridge and the Diversion Dam, Boise police reported. It took police and fire crews awhile to find and reach the body, and it was recovered around 9 p.m., BPD spokeswoman Haley Williams said.
The body was an adult, Williams said, but no details about identity, gender or circumstances of death were available Tuesday night. No accidents or missing rafters were reported Tuesday night, she said. Information about how long the body appeared to have been in the water was not available.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
