Multiple agencies prevent suicide attempt in Boise

A person attempted suicide on the Orchard Bridge over Interstate 184 Monday morning before police stopped him, according to Idaho State Police spokeswoman Teresa Baker.

If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide, please call the 24-hour Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.

The westbound Connector was shut down in that area around 11:20 a.m. while Boise Police Department and ISP responded.

Officers took the person into protective custody before he could harm himself fatally, Baker said.

All lanes are back open to traffic.
