Boise police said late Sunday that they found the man and woman reported to have tried to kidnap a 5-year-old girl Sunday afternoon.
“Police have spoken with them and say it appears there was a misunderstanding, and there are no arrests or charges at this time,” a news release from the department said. Authorities did not provide the names of the man or woman.
The incident took place in the Cottonwood Park area, southwest of Eagle and McMillan roads.
Police previously said a male driver with a female passenger stopped and tried to persuade three children, ages 5 to 7, to get into the car with them.

Haley Williams, BPD spokeswoman, said the couple were concerned for the children’s safety when they saw them alone.
The pair took a 5-year-old girl but were stopped by parents and neighbors, police said earlier Sunday.
The 5-year-old is safe with her family, who did not know the man or woman, police said.
The news release issued late Sunday night said that officers are following up on the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
BPD spoke with the couple and there are no plans to file charges. But officers instructed the pair to not handle future situations in this manner, Williams said.
