Fireworks lit up the sky Monday night during Boise’s 10th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration in Ann Morrison Park. The roughly 45-minute show capped a day of city celebration that began with the Gem State Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast in Julia Davis Park.

Sponsors for the fireworks include the city of Boise, Fred Meyer, Mountain America Credit Union, the Idaho Statesman, Tomlinson & Associates, Boise Housing Corp., College of Western Idaho, J.R. Simplot Co., Intermountain Gas, Micron Foundation, Idaho Power’s Boise Operations Center, the Grove Hotel, and George and Bev Harad.

Earlier, sunshine, patriotism and the cooling spray of a fire hose contributed to the celebratory mood of Boise’s “We the People” Liberty Day parade. The traditional parade, which started at 11 a.m., drew crowds to Downtown Boise. Volunteers handed out flags.
