A crash Tuesday morning involved a Boise police vehicle at Fairview and Milwaukee.
A mechanical issue involving a tie rod, which is part of the vehicle’s steering mechanism, could be a factor, according to a police press release, but that possibility had not been confirmed by Tuesday evening.
The collision occurred at 5:39 a.m. An officer was driving a marked patrol SUV eastbound on Fairview when the vehicle left its lane and sideswiped an oncoming passenger car, police said.
Initially no one was reported to be injured, but a man who was in the passenger car was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
