The 1-acre grass fire on the canal’s north bank potentially threatened homes along East Gloucester Street in Southeast Boise, dispatchers were told when they received word of the flames at 1:53 p.m.
The fire was contained by 2:21 p.m., Boise Fire Department spokeswoman Tammy Barry said.
Resources on scene included three engines, one truck, two brush rigs and two battalion chiefs.
