A generator failed on a Mountain Home Air Force Base fighter jet Tuesday afternoon, but the jet landed safely at the Boise Airport, according to a military spokesman.
Boise firefighters were dispatched to the airport to assist with an in-flight emergency at 12:04 p.m. The plane had landed safely by about 12:30 p.m.
Idaho National Guard Maj. Chris Borders said such in-flight emergencies are not uncommon, and this one was a minor mechanical issue.
The F-15Es from Mountain Home are based at Gowen Field this month while the runway is being paved at the Air Force base.
