A kitten trapped on top of a speed limit sign was rescued by Mountain Home Police Friday.
Three officers — Robert Elom, Josh Martinez, and a reserve officer Annette Bigalow — stopped by a 35 mph speed limit sign on the Sunset Strip around 3 p.m. With the help of some concerned citizens, the officers pulled the gray kitten off the sign, police said.
The kitten on the sign also had a brother. Both animals were thirsty, hungry and scared, but quickly transported to an animal shelter, according to the police department.
In a Facebook post, police laid out why they took time to help the kittens in distress.
“The safety of our animals is important to us and we will not turn away from those that are in danger or in need,” according to the post.
