A Boise woman was charged with driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash Monday, according to the Boise Police Department.
Evelina Bennett, 34, was driving a black car south on Americana Boulevard when she began swerving, crossed the lane divider and hit another vehicle. Both vehicles crashed through a fence. Bennett was transported to the hospital, but didn’t sustain life-threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators say Bennett illegally possessed prescription medication and was under the influence while driving. Since Bennett had two previous DUI convictions, this DUI was bumped up to a felony charge, police said.
She’s facing the DUI charge and a felony probation violation, police said.
Bennet is up for a preliminary hearing on June 16.
