UPDATE: Boise man arrested in sandwich shop robbery

Jacob Douglas Jackson, 21, was arrested late Sunday night, about three hours after he allegedly robbed a sandwich shop in the 6800 block of West Overland Road.

A man entered the shop at about 7:30 p.m., demanded cash and left with an undisclosed amount of money. Witnesses recognized the man, later identified as Jackson, Boise police said. The suspect was found at a residence near the intersection of West Fairview Avenue and North Cole Road.

Jackson was taken to the Ada County Jail, where he was charged with robbery and petit theft. He was also held on a warrant for failure to appear.

During the investigation, police determined that Jackson had eaten dinner at an Overland Road restaurant and left without paying.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon in 4th District Magistrate Court.
