Work on Connector in Boise will slow traffic Friday and Monday

Drivers can expect delays on Emerald Street west of Curtis Road on Friday and Monday as crews work on the bridge where Emerald Street crosses over I-184, known to locals as the “Connector,” the Idaho Transportation Department announced Thursday.

Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days, traffic will be stopped briefly on Emerald Street between Raymond Street and Camelot Drive. Flaggers will direct alternating lanes of traffic across the bridge. The Transportation Department is repairing and repainting the bridge railing to extend its lifespan. The restrictions on Friday and Monday will allow crews to reinstall railing along the westbound lanes of the bridge and remove railing from the eastbound lanes.

The sidewalk on the eastbound side of the bridge will be closed until mid-May. A temporary concrete barrier will protect traffic. The sidewalk on the westbound side will be open.
