The Boise Fire Department used a net Tuesday to scoop up the ducklings from a storm drain and return them to their mother.
A homeowner saw the two ducklings trapped in the storm drain along the 1100 block of Abram Court and called the fire department, according to spokeswoman Tammy Berry.
“It was kind of a joint effort,” Berry said.
The homeowner and fighters worked together to scoop out the two ducklings. The baby birds were safely reunited with their mother, Berry said.

The fire department tweeted out a photo and video Wednesday of the rescue.
Ducklings often slip into storm drains this time of year because of their size, Berry said. In fact, Eagle Fire Department recently made its own duckling rescue.
