The KeyBank at 4920 W. Overland Road, Boise, was roped off with police crime scene tape Tuesday morning after an armed robbery.
The robbery was called in at around 9:15 a.m. It’s not clear how much was stolen or if the suspect had a weapon, but Boise police posted an image of a suspect on Twitter. The person wore a large red or burgundy coat, a purple bandanna across the face; large sunglasses and a black woolen cap with a brim.
Boise Police Lt. Stan Niccolls said it’s unknown whether customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery. According to some witnesses, the suspect fled on foot. Other witnesses reported seeing someone fitting the suspect’s description getting into an older model four-door greenish-blue sedan. The car may have a bright green bumper sticker on the middle of the trunk.
Hillcrest Elementary, which is on Pond Street, was locked down for a time Tuesday morning as a precaution.
