The Boise Airport has until next fall to take advantage of a $700,000 federal grant for a Delta Airlines nonstop flight between Boise and Atlanta, Director Rebecca Hupp said Wednesday.
In recent talks, Hupp said, Delta said it had no plans to start the Atlanta service this year because it can’t spare an airplane for the flight. Hupp said airport officials will resume talks with Delta in June, but next summer is the soonest the airline is likely to start an Atlanta nonstop.
Delta supported Boise’s application for the federal grant with a letter to the U.S. Transportation Department in July. The grant was awarded in early fall 2014 and is available for two years, Hupp said.
