Frontier Airlines adds nonstop flights to one of Boise’s favorite destinations
A year after returning to the Boise Airport, a discount airline is now set to expand service to one of the Treasure Valley’s most popular destinations.
Frontier Airlines announced Tuesday that it will launch a nonstop route between Boise and Las Vegas starting Sept. 10. The flight will operate four times per week.
The Las Vegas flight adds upon Frontier’s existing route to and from Denver, which started in spring 2025 after the air carrier returned to Boise after more than a three-year hiatus. Frontier previously halted service in Boise in September 2021.
Frontier’s new route will compete directly with Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines — Boise’s two leading commercial air carriers — which both also fly nonstop to Las Vegas’s Harry Reid International Airport. Las Vegas consistently ranks in the Boise Airport’s top-3 nonstop routes.
The airline said it was delighted to offer the new route in Boise. At the same time, Frontier announced a new flight between Las Vegas and Oakland, California, starting Aug. 20.
“We are laser-focused on redefining what consumers can expect from low-fare travel — from our expansive network map to the premium upgrades we offer — and we look forward to providing consumers with affordable flight options on these new routes starting this summer,” Josh Flyr, Frontier’s vice president of network and operations design, said in a statement.
Introductory fares start at $49 and can be booked at flyfrontier.com.
“Las Vegas is one of Boise’s most popular destinations, and Frontier’s new nonstop service helps meet our community’s demand for convenient and affordable travel options,” Boise Airport spokesperson Shawna Samuelson told the Idaho Statesman. “This new route gives travelers another easy way to reach a destination they love while supporting the continued growth of air service in our region.”
Also beginning Wednesday, Alaska launches a new twice-weekly route between Boise and Anchorage, Alaska, for the summer. It marks the first time Treasure Valley air travelers can fly nonstop to Alaska and runs until Aug. 15.
Alaska will begin flying another seasonal route between Boise and Sonoma County, California, north of San Francisco, on Nov. 1. The flight will operate almost daily until at least mid-April 2027.
The new routes will bring the Boise Airport to 28 nonstop destinations across eight commercial air carriers.
Through the first quarter of 2026, the airport tracked about 1.3% ahead for passenger traffic compared to that same time frame last year. The airport broke its annual passenger record in 2025 with more than 5.2 million passengers.
