The bicyclist was pedaling west on West Northview Street at about 6:48 a.m. Friday when she was struck by an eastbound pickup turning left onto North Ash Park Lane, Boise police reported.
The driver of the pickup, a man, had stopped for a second bicyclist who was riding east on the sidewalk on the north side of the street, across from the park. He did not see the westbound bicyclist in the bicycle lane before he hit her, said Haley Williams, spokeswoman for the Boise Police Department.
The driver said the rising sun and shade cast on the bicyclist made it impossible to see her, Williams said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
