The body of a man in his late 50s was found in the front yard of a home on Longmont Avenue near Howe Street Wednesday morning, prompting a death investigation by Boise police and the Ada County Coroner’s Office.

The streets are just off of Broadway Avenue in Boise.

The man’s name has not yet been released, and it’s not clear yet how he died. An officer at the scene said there are no obvious signs of foul play, and officers also mentioned possible past medical issues involving the dead man.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office said no information will be released until Thursday.

A person walking by the yard shortly before 9:30 a.m. noticed the body and called Ada County dispatch, Boise police said in a news release. Paramedics and police arrived on the scene and called detectives to investigate.

Although “there are no obvious signs of foul play, an investigation is underway to determine cause of death and rule out anything criminal,” police said in the news release.
