A man living in the home near Les Bois Park was rescued by Garden City police officers and was later flown to a hospital in Salt Lake City for treatment of unspecified injuries, Boise Fire Department spokeswoman Tammy Barry said.

One of the exits from the trailer was blocked by a refrigerator, Barry said, making it difficult for the man to get out. Firefighters urge residents not to block any exit from their homes in case of emergency.

Information about the man’s condition and age was not available Thursday evening.

Initial reports indicated there were five dogs in the home, but firefighters only found two. Both died of smoke inhalation, Boise Fire Department Captain Jeremy Kircher said.

Investigators determined theThursday afternoon blaze was accidental, but no details of how it started were available Thursday evening.

The fire was reported by a neighbor at 1:33 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of East 52nd Street, near Remington Street.

About half of the home was damaged by the fire, and two vehicles and a shed also burned, Kircher said.
