A male rafter was rescued from the South Fork of the Boise River Tuesday evening, according to the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded with a rescue raft to a report of a rafting accident between Prairie and Neal bridges at around 6:30 p.m. The rescue raft launched from Danskin Bridge and a St. Lukes helicopter dropped a radio and backpack to the injured rafter to use until rescuers could get to him, according to the release.
The search and rescue raft then got to the victim and got him to safety. The rafter had a broken leg, but is ok otherwise, according to the release.
He was transported to the hospital.
