Michael R. Brombly, 45, of Nampa was spotted face-down in the water Saturday evening in the area of Lake Lowell’s Upper Dam, according to the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Brombly apparently had been swimming by himself when someone noticed him in the water, unresponsive, and called for help, Canyon County spokesman Joe Decker said. Marine patrol deputies responded quickly and began CPR on the man, but he was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics arrived, Decker said. The drowning was reported about 8:30 p.m.
The Canyon County coroner ruled the death an accidental drowning, Decker said. Brombly’s name was released Monday.
