Ada and Canyon sheriff's deputies Monday were not able to find the man who fell into Snake River Sunday night despite the use of sonar.

Ada County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Sunday night suspended their search for a fisherman who reportedly went underwater near the Swan Falls Dam and did not resurface. Efforts were suspended due to dark conditions, ACSO said via Twitter.

ACSO spokesman Patrick Orr said a 22-year-old man slipped and went underwater while fishing with two other men just south of the dam on Sunday. The witnesses told authorities the 22-year-old man initially resurfaced about 15 yards away from where he first submerged, and then went under the water again without resurfacing.
