Kylee Solberg, 21, won the top title on Saturday at the Nampa Civic Center, according to a press release from the Miss Idaho Organization. She will go on to compete in the Miss America competition in September in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Solberg’s Miss Idaho 2016 platform is awareness for online bullying, which was inspired by a young girl from her hometown who was the target of bullying, according to the release.
Solberg, who competed against the 21 other contestants as Miss Tri Counties, graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School and earned an associate degree from North Idaho College. She currently attends Boise State University for communications, pageant officials said.
Solberg was last year’s First Runner Up in the Miss Idaho Pageant, which is a not-for-profit college scholarship organization, according to the release. This year, Miss Nampa Nina Forest won Fourth Runner Up; Miss Treasure Valley Katarina Schweitzer won Third Runner Up; Miss Canyon County Hannah Menzner took Second Runner Up; and Miss Meridian Marissa Wickland was awarded First Runner Up, according to the release.
