Burton L. Mack, 60, of Boise, died of blunt force trauma in the crash, the Ada County Coroner’s Office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Mack was crossing West State Street at West Dewey Street, near Veterans Memorial Park, Monday night when he was hit and killed by a car, Boise police reported.
The accident was reported at 9:12 p.m. Mack was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the westbound car was not reported as injured.

The intersection was dark and rainy at the time of the collision, police said. There are street lights in the area. In a news release, Boise police said, “there’s no obvious signs of impairment involving the driver.”
Members of the Boise Police Crash Reconstruction Team remained at the scene late Monday investigating the crash.
“Investigating officers will uncover as much information as possible about every aspect of the incident, then review the evidence with prosecutors,” police said in the news release.
